Elbow to perform in UK Concerts

Elbow are a British alternative rock  band. Members of the band first played together in 1990 at The Corner Pin pub in Stubbins, Rossendale bordering the town of Ramsbottom, Bury, a borough of Greater Manchester. The band currently retain their original line-up of lead vocalist and lyricist Guy Garvey, guitarist Mark Potter, keyboardist Craig Potter, bassist Pete Turner and drummer Richard Jupp. They have released four (top twenty) studio albums, three EPs (Noisebox, Newborn and Any Day Now) and seven top forty singles in the UK. The band is named after a line in the BBC TV drama The Singing Detective. A character (Philip Marlowe) says that the word "elbow" is the most sensuous word in the English language; not for its definition, but for how it feels to say it.

Acclaimed for their innovative sound and front-man Guy Garvey's evocative candid lyrics, Elbow have received vast critical acclaim and been endorsed by major artists Radiohead, Coldplay, Blur, R.E.M. and U2 despite minor commercial success during much of their career. The Velvet Underground's co-founder John Cale selected Elbow's "Switching Off" as one of his eight chosen songs on the BBC's Desert Island Discs radio programme. The band won the 2008 Mercury Music Prize for their fourth album, The Seldom Seen Kid. On 22 December 2010, Elbow announced the release of their fifth studio album, Build a Rocket Boys!, to be released on 7 March 2011.

Elbow have cited a number of influences on their music, including Genesis (in particular the Peter Gabriel era), Talk Talk and Radiohead. Guy Garvey has said: "I grew up listening to every Genesis record. I learned to write harmonies by listening to Peter Gabriel." He has also claimed: "There would be no Elbow without Radiohead." He credits the band's sense of dynamics to the influence of Talk Talk and has said: "Volume dynamics are an essential part of classical music, but a lost art with guitar music. I think it's incredibly boring and shortsighted if a band sticks with just one sound song for song. An album should take people on a journey." Awards won by the band include the Brit Award,  the Ivor Novello award,  the Mercury Music Prize the South Bank Show Pop award, the NME award, and the Mojo Magazine Song of the Year 2009.

Russell Watson Performing in UK Theatres

Russell Watson (born 24 November 1966) is an English tenor who has released singles and albums of both operatic-style and pop songs. The self-styled "People's Tenor" had been singing since he was a child, and became known after performing at a working men's club. He came to attention in 1999 when he sang the England's national anthem at the Rugby League Challenge Cup  Final at Wembley Stadium, "Barcelona" at the last match of the Premiership season between Manchester United and Tottenham Hotspur at Old Trafford  and a full set of songs at the final of the UEFA Champions League in Barcelona  between Manchester United and Bayern Munich.

Russell Watson's debut album entitled The Voice was released in May 2001; four others followed. However, an album planned for November 2006 was delayed due to the removal of a benign pituitary tumour. This album, entitled That's Life, was eventually released on 5 March 2007. On 22 November 2010 Russell's new album, La Voce, was released. It's his first album since overcoming brain cancer.

Once Russell Watson finished radiotherapy in 2008 he decided to embark on a return to music. He soon found that his treatment had given him not just a fresh outlook on the world, but a whole new, deeper, richer voice. "The tumour could have been growing for 10-15 years in my nasal cavity, so when I had cut it out I went from a V8 to a V12!.
